In the Same Bind - Poem

In the Same Bind

With a mind
of countless cracks ,
Unaware of its
cutting attacks

Hurtful words
rise to my lips
To return the sting
of your verbal whips

But your eyes soften,
recoil to who you
are most often

Catching laughter
between frowns
Walking upright
in a world upside down

My anger unclenched
as I recall the truth
The real enemy is not you

For both parties
are wrapped
in the same bind
When one loves
one unwell in the mind
